In this place you will find four pools that vary in temperature from 99° Fahrenheit to 105° (37° to 41° C). These warm waters have an invigorating and calming effect. One of the pools has an artificial waterfall. All pools are surrounded by the bright colors and vegetation of the Arenal rainforest. Eco Termales is a family owned and operated natural hot spring. They allow a limited number of guests each day so visitors can get the most out of their visit to the springs. It's easy to spend the day here: Eco Termales offers poolside snacks and delicious meals. Eco Termales prepares fresh and tasty Creole cuisine for its guests. Meals here are served buffet style. You can choose between two hot entrees and then help yourself to ingredients for salads, fruit, the soup of the day and a selection of Costa Rican desserts. Notes: Day pass began at 10am finishing at 4pm. Night pass began at 5pm ending at 10pm. In both options you will need to schedule the time. Transport is not incluided.

    EcoTermales is an easy 5- 10 minute drive from La Fortuna. The dressing rooms are spacious and very clean. There is no extra fee for lockers or towels. We purchased the ticket that included a lunch buffet which was pricey at $28/pp. However, the meal was a welcome change from the typical tico Casado. We had so many choices of both hot and cold creatively prepared international dishes and soups along with fresh fruit drinks, fresh fruit, a selection of desserts and coffee/tea. The small footprint at EcoTermales is perfect for a thermal pool experience without the crowds. The area around the pools is not slippery although you may choose to wear water shoes. There is a bar poolside that also serves light bites (sandwiches, pizza). A few tourists brought a book to read; others sunbathed; others enjoyed conversation with tourists from other countries. We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing day.

    This was a very nice place and several nice pools to relax but we had just as nice hot springs at our resort so I would suggest staying at one of these and saving the $200-300 to come here.

    The spas are nice. Not worth $64, not worth $50. Multiple large pools of moderate temperature and a few small areas that are warm and relaxing. Our group of about 20 seems to have arrived just before the rush. The pools were quiet and there was plenty of space. Within an hour there were a few more groups and it was hard to find a quiet space. Nonetheless, the place was super relaxing, even in moderate rain. Unfortunately I left frustrated. You can order drinks (and have dinner) but don’t pay until you leave. I ordered a mojito. The bartender selected the rum - the drink was just weird, but I was feeling very chill and with people I didn’t really know, so drank some and we went to have dinner. When I checked out I was charged $18. The person said it was because of the rum. There was no allowance for a drink made bad. It just kind of spoiled the trip for me. Beware of being ripped off in your super calm state.
