Experience Aquiares Coffee Farm
My husband and I did a 4-hour horse riding afternoon tour. We decided to take a public bus from San Jose to Turrialba. I discovered that public transportation in Costa Rica is safe, organized, efficient, and very affordable ($3.00 one way for both of us). We got to enjoy the scenery during the two-hour trip.
We were received at Casa Hacienda La Esperanza with a delicious home-grown and brewed coffee, bread, and fruits before beginning our ride through the coffee farm. Next time, we have to stay a few days at La Esperanza as the place is truly beautiful.
The best asset of the tour is the wonderful people who received us. Our guide, Andrew, was friendly and very informative about Aquiares coffee farm, the largest in Costa Rica. Christian, who guided the horses, was very patient and also shared information about the coffee country. We got to see the waterfall, river, church, community, and the coffee shop (buy coffee there!).
We truly enjoyed this experience; it is highly recommended.
