Discover the majestic scenery of the La Fortuna Waterfall and the culture of the authentic indigenous Maleku tribe. This half-day experience combines one of La Fortuna's highlights and the culture of the native Costa Ricans. The adventure starts with a 1-mile tractor ride all the way to the entrance of a lush rainforest trail which you will walk accompanied by a naturalist guide for about 0.5 miles, crossing a hanging bridge and watching out for local wildlife. Once you arrive at the spectacular La Fortuna waterfall, you will be able to take a refreshing dip in the waterfall lagoon and simply immerse yourself in the crystalline water of this 70-meter high fall. The tour ends with a visit to the Maleku village; an authentic cultural site where you will learn about the roots and customs of Costa Rica's natives. This combo of La Fortuna's best to offer in nature and culture promises to be one of the greatest moments experienced during your Costa Rica vacation.

No one needs to pay for someone to walk them to the bottom of the waterfall and sit there while you swim. As far as learning about the Maleku, we were walked to a tent full of souvenirs, told 4 facts and took a picture with them. Maybe 10 minutes… biggest disappointment of the whole trip and absolutely not worth the money. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS!!!
