You will absolutely love San José after this experience. Guided by young biologists you will discover nature hiding in the middle of Costa Rica's largest city.   • Universidad de Costa Rica, San Jose, Costa Rica
    We will visit the Campus of the University of Costa Rica, which holds some of the largest patches of forest in the San José Metro Area. On our first stop, we will look for resident and migratory birds, incredible insects and amazing plants and flowers. We'll be talking about art, history, indigenous culture, and most of all, nature. Then, we'll visit the main campus where we will be looking for sloths that live freely and hopefully even see the two different species that inhabit our country. DISCLAIMER: This is not a Recue Center or Sloth Sactuary Tour. You will not be able to touch them, if found, the sloths will be seen in their natural habitat, which means most of the time they will be sleeping on the trees. Still, our experience is your best option at San Jose if you're a true nature lover. This is a 2,5h walking tour, some parts will be exposed to intense sunlight. Not a heavy walk, but please consider your physical condition

Ismael was an excellent guide. He was so passionate about his country and the environment and made sure that we had an amazing tour. He gave us information on the history of the area, culture, and the natural landscape. And we saw two different kinds of sloths!

A great surprise find in the center of San Jose! Louise was awesome in sharing his knowledge of flora and fauna and he even found us a total of 3 sloths during the tour.

We just completed the walking nature tour and had a wonderful time! Our guide, Luis, was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information about the local/native wildlife as well as the native trees and plants. We were able to spot many different varieties of birds and several sloths. We observed both the two and three toed sloths and were able to see a mother and baby sloth as well! The University campus is beautiful and the entire experience was memorable and informative. We highly recommend this tour if you have a few hours in the city and want to experience a unique side of nature right in the heart of San Jose! Truly Amazing!!
