Hi to all, I'm Alvaro, a Venezuelan living in the beautiful Tamarindo Beach, Costa Rica, a surf instructor, and the Manager of Tidal Wave Surf Academy. My journey with surfing started in Venezuela, 18 years ago, on a beach called Chirimena, and I surfed almost all of Venezuela's central coast. Four years ago, I arrived in Tamarindo, fell in love with this beach town, and started to provide surf lessons. I am an ISA-certified Certified Surf Instructor and I have vast experience teaching children and adults to surf. Surfing has given me balance, calm, and a sense of meaning, and I enjoy transmitting the passion of surfing by teaching people the sport that has given me so much. I am excited about sharing my knowledge and experience with you and helping you get the most out of your surfing experience. I believe that the ocean is a source of peace and relaxation for people of all ages.

We had such a great time learning how to surf from Alvero. He was a fantastic instructor! Knowledgeable, encouraging and very fun!

Alvero was amazing! This was our first time learning how to surf, and he was a great teacher. Very patient, but with lots of enthusiasm for teaching newbies how to get up, how to feel comfortable, and how to start reading the waves. We did a few days with him, and have recommended him to our friends who are visiting tamarindo soon!

Over the week we spent in Tamarindo myself, my boyfriend and our little boy, 6yrs old, had separate private lessons with Alvaro and he was great. I had some surfing experience before but still learnt loads and my little boy who was nervous before his lesson came out confident, happy and able to ride some waves. Alvaro is a great surf instructor. Thank you
