It's time to be adventurous! Come and explore the rain forest covering over 29,000 hectares. Tortuguero is one of the main nesting sites of the Chelonia Midas, the endangered green sea turtle.  Home to a wide variety of wildlife, the forests and waterways are inundated with sloths, monkeys, agoutis, coatimundis, crocodiles and manatees.

    Your tour departs from San Jose and from there you will head towards the mountains of Braulio Carrillo National Park accompanied by your bilingual guide. Drive past the lush serenity of the coffee plantations along slopes sheltered by thick cloud forests and beautiful waterfalls visible from the road. Your next stop is the Banana Plantation where the fruit is processed and exported. The fun continues as you leave the bus and your tour takes you on a exciting boat trip into the jungles of Tortuguero National Park, covering over 29,000 hectares and one of the main nesting sites of the Chelonia Midas, the endangered green sea turtle. After a hearty buffet lunch, take a walk through the village of Tortuguero and get to know the villagers and the history of the area before your return to San Jose in the mid-afternoon with a rest stop along the way.

We were pleased with the level of service and the day itself. However, we did not receive the bottles of water that were requested. The driver was nice and polite. There was not enough information about the park, about the country, or some interesting facts, but overall everything was wonderful! The minibus was quite comfortable as well. We recommend this excursion and this operator. They are a reliable company, so you can be calm about your choice!

A long drive to Tortuguero National Park. Not many animals to be visible, but it still worth the trip to have an experience there. The driver is very good.

Driver and his buddy were both cool! Buddy was a bit talkative, but all in good vibes. Be ready for long trip to Caribbean coast, 3 hours minimum each way. Outside of that, pleasant trip. Pura Vida!
