    Bibury - “the most beautiful village in England” On arriving into Bibury you may think you have been transported back to a different age. The village was once described by the British poet, artist and novelist William Morris (1834-96) as “the most beautiful village in England”. Bibury’s attractions includes Arlington Row, a 17th century row of weavers cottages built of local stone next to the River Coln. It is one of the most photographed areas in the region and was chosen as a location for the 2007 film ‘Stardust’. Close by you will find the Bibury Trout Farm and a Saxon Church. The River Coln flows between the main village street and a watermeadow: together with Alrington Row as a backdrop, it makes one of the most picuresque scenes you will find in the Cotswolds.     Regularly voted one of the prettiest villages in England, Bourton-on -the-Water has a unique appeal to visitors and residents alike. Known as the Venice of the Cotswolds, this one village offers a wealth of attractions and shops, restaurants and tea rooms, or simply the space for you to enjoy some tranquil time by the River Windrush, spanned by its five arched bridges. Bourton-on-the-Water’s most prized feature is its tranquil river. Fed from many springs, its source is approximately ten miles from the village, and even in the 1976 drought the flow continued. Where the river enters the village centre, over the rapids next to the Old Mill, its clear waters flow under a miscellany of arched stone bridges past the green with its banks of Cotswold stone.

Lovely day trip from London! Our tour guide Leslie and driver Mark were both awesome! They took us down some narrow roads so we would be able to see more sights, which was possible because it was a small tour. Leslie gave us a lot of fun facts and history about the area, and Mark is a very skilled driver! My mom and I had so much fun & we had plenty of time to explore at each stop. We highly recommend this tour for anyone curious about seeing the Cotswolds!

This tour was an amazing way to take a day trip out of London for the day and experience something truly different! The tour guide, James, was amazing and also started giving little tidbits about London as soon as we started our journey. He was very informative and so kind, and gave amazing recs in each stop in the Cotswolds! Our driver Mark was great as well, he got us there and back safely! We went to Bibury, Bourton-on-water, and Burford and each stop had a unique charm of its own, I would highly recommend this tour if you want a break from the hustle and bustle of London and to see an area that you may not normally plan to see!

I went for the above tour on 26th Dec, 2024. The tour consisted of visit to 3 places. Bibury, burford and bourton on the water. Frankly speaking, there was nothing to see in bibury except old houses. In Burford, the high street had few shops as well as some places to eat. But most of them were again closed due to boxing day. So nothing to see r to spend time. Only exception was Bourton on the water. Most of the shops were open and also eateries. Place was also very beautiful. Ideally speaking the tour operator should keep more time for this and less time for the other time since hardly anything to do in the other places. Overall it was a good trip but GBP 134 was too high. Tour Guide Simon was very good and also the bus driver.
