When History meets art and craft. This excursion is for those who want to discover Crete from Rethymnon without a long way driving in bus. We start from the most important monastery of Crete: The Historical Monastery of Arkadi. After that, we will visit the Museum of Ancient Eleftherna with its historical findings from Homer’s era. Afterward, you will enjoy a guided tour to the pottery workshop “TSIKALARIO", where Mrs Helen will show us the art of pottery. Right after, in a 2 km distance only, you will visit Margarites village where you will have free time for a lunch or a walk. The last destination on that excursion is Melidoni cave at an altitude of 220 meters. You will discover an amazing cave filled full with stalactites and stalagmites, but also full of History.

Nous étions à l hotel rethymnon maravel , nous avons été conseillé par anny pour plusieurs excursions que nous avons fait ! Le rapport qualité prix vaut vraiment le coup. Nous avons été très bien conseillé par anny qui est vraiment au top ! Nous avons fait du 4x4 sur les bon conseils de Anny! Si vous passez dans le coin n hésitez pas y aller!

he trip was interesting and useful to get new knowledge and understanding of life in Create. Only we were unpleasantly surprised by the barbaric treatment of natural objects in the cave. It is obvious that in order to beautify the cave and make it easier to access, many stalactites have been brutally cut down, probably with the money of European Union funds. Of course, this is done to increase revenue, but this is not the modern approach! Stone Age people treated nature with more respect!
