Experience the charming town of Chania which attracts many tourists every year, walk around its picturesque streets and admire the unique old harbor of this town. Enjoy a visit to the Lake of Kournas and relax in this beautiful landscape of Cretan nature. Lastly, visit the town of Rethymnon and walk through its streets along the port to the old town.

We pick up travellers from specific points in the areas of Sisi, Malia, Stalis, Hersonissos, Anissaras, Agkisaras, Gouves, Gournes, Kokkini Hani, Karteros, Amoudara, Agia Pelagia and from two centrally located points in Heraklion town.
As soon as you make the booking we will contact you in order to let you know the exact place and time of the Pick-up which is closer to your place of hotel, please check your email.

  • Heraklion, Heraklion, Greece
    We will start collecting participants from pick-up points in the morning. Depending on the place of your hotel/apartment the bus drive will differ. Approximately, the bus trip to Chania will take 3 hours.

  • Chania Town, Chania Town, Greece
    Our groups will have 2.5 hours to wander around the beautiful Venetian streets and neighbourhoods of this picturesque town of Greece. Walk through its roads full of little shops, markets and local restaurants around the picturesque old port.

  • Lake Kournas, Kournas, Greece
    Bur Drive from Chania to the Lake: 1 hour We will visit the lake of Kournas for 1 hour and 20 minutes. The largest natural lake of Crete reflecting the White Mountains gives you the sense of an Alpine landscape. Grab the opportunity to hire a pedal boat for a lovely ride around the lake, swimming and enjoying a meal in one of the little tavernas (not included)

  • Rethymnon Old Town, Rethymnon, Greece
    Bur Drive to Rethymnon will take 20 minutes. Visit Rethymno and its picturesque venetian town. Enjoy 1.5 hours to walk along the old port and beautiful oriental beach road of the town.

  • Heraklion, Heraklion, Greece
    Bus Drive back to Heraklion: 2 hours Embarkation in the buses and drive back to the hotels where we gathered participants in the morning. Depending on traffic and on the pick-up places of each one, the time of journey back to the hotel will differ .

Enjoyed the trip but could've skipped the trip to the lake. Restaurant there that was recommended wasn't the best. Our guide was great though!

Our group was the very last one to be picked up. I felt sorry for those who traveled from Heraklion, knowing we still had a very long way to go to reach Destination 1. The bus was comfortable, and our tour guide Elizabeth did her best to share information in both French and English to the passengers. However, while one language was being spoken, the other audience was left in the dark. Since there were monitors on the bus, it would help to give video support to her presentation, allowing each person to follow along in his/her own language. Visuals definitely would help. After 1.5 hours, we arrived in Chania, which turned out to be a welcome visit. Plenty of options for passengers to see during our time period there. The trip to the lake was blah at best. Well off the beaten path, the restaurant recommended was very disappointing in service and food. The lake itself was just okay, although some did enjoy the paddle boat opportunity. Another 45 minutes took us to Rethymnon, almost anti-climactic, since it was a step down from Chania. Some shopping, but nobody was hungry, while others just meandered or sat at a taverna. We were the first ones off as well, so again that was a very, very long day for the folks in Heraklion.

Cette excursion permet de visiter en une journée toute la partie ouest de l’île, la guide francophone nous donne toutes les informations, histoire de l’île et anecdotes sur les villes et villages et nous laissé un quartier libre total pour les visites de Chiana, du lac de Kournas et la ville de Rethymnon. Point noir : temps de visite très limite, on a l’œil sur la montre tout le temps. Si vous prenez cette excursion avec un départ très à l’Est de l’île attention au temps de trajet : pour notre part départ de Hersonissos à 7h30 et retour à 20h30 … ???? A éviter avec un enfant en bas âge …
