    The Cave of Zeus known as Dikteon Andron Cave. According to myths, this is where Zeus, the father of the gods was born. Although the cave used to be a place of worship from the Minoan to the Roman Era, archeological findings have brought to light signs of human presence that date to the Neolithic Period. At the entrance you will find the ancient altar, as well as rock formations that are occupied by birds and bats. In the other halls of the cave, you will get to see a lake and several impressive stalactites and stalagmites that have been illuminated for a dramatic effect. The cave's main attraction is the stalactite known as the "cloak of Zeus", which has been worn down by touch over time.

Girlfriend and I both went on this tour and what a time we had. Totally recommend it for people looking to do something different. The driver was a great laugh and informative as well. We both intend to book again when we come to visit Elounda.

We used this company for Knossos and Zeus Cave trips - private ones. They were fun and personalised by the very charismatic Ana who is from Crete and had much to share in terms of Cretean life and vegetatian.

Visite très rafraichissante de la gorge de Zeus. Un.pull n' est toutefois pas nècessaire. Parcours de 20 minutes environ dans la grotte. Deux accès possibles cet été . Un très escarpé et un pavé . L un et l'autre sont un peu physiques mais accessibles à tous. L accès est payant 6€ et est à payer à l'entrée de la hrotte.
