We ended up lucking out and getting a private tour. Petros was very knowledgeable and great to talk to, and really knew his stuff as a trained chef. We went to 2 wineries with very different styles and vibes, and then went to a small restaurant where we were treated to a great lunch. There was also a store in the restaurant where we could sample oils and vinegars. The wine region is very close to Heraklion and it was a very enjoyable day.
