The beauty of the caves is enhanced by multi-coloured stalactites and stalagmites of various shapes including curtains and limestone pools. Walking through the cave you will enjoy many waterfalls and underground halls. In the afternoon part of the visit you will enjoy the scenic ride to the most charming town on the Slovenian coast – Piran. A walk through its narrow medieval streets wedged between beautiful houses, churches and squares will take you back to the medieval times. Take your time to enjoy the breeze that blows from the sea and to admire the main square named after a famous violinist and composer Giuseppe Tartini. You will certainly enjoy the small-town ideal to wander around for a coffee, cake, gelato or some good fresh seafood.  Visit the Unesco heritage listed Škocjan caves, a majestic underground river canyon, and let it take you to world of fantasy. The exceptional volume of the underground canyon is what distinguishes the Škocjan Caves from other caves and places and is easily placed among the most famous underground features in the world. In the afternoon enjoy a scenic ride towards the Slovenian coast. Stop at Socerb castle for breath-taking views of the Slovenian coast and the Gulf of Trieste. Once in Piran you will discover the most romantic and picturesque coastal town. Piran is a tourist highlight of the Slovenian coast, strongly influenced by the old Venetian Republic. The main square is named after Giuseppe Tartini, a famous violinist and a composer who was born in Piran.

You will soon realize that Piran is a town that is almost impossible not to fall in love with on your first visit. Walk through its narrow medieval streets wedged between beautiful houses, churches and squares and enjoy the breeze that blows from the sea. Your guide will tell you about the historical part of the town and show you the marvelous Venetian architecture. Take your time to enjoy a cup of coffee, gelato or some good fresh food. After a well spend day we will end the tour in Ljubljana, with a drop-off at your hotel.

  • Warm and comfortable clothes and footwear are essential to visit the Škocjan caves (temperature in the cave is 12°C / 53 Fahrenheit).
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

It was an amazing day trip to the caves and the Adriatic see. Our guide Emil very nice, well organised and useful, we had a perfect day thanks to him

This was such a great tour, and a big reason for that was the guide, Emil. From the moment he picked us up, he went above and beyond to make sure we got the absolute most out of our tour. He was very knowledgeable about Slovenian history as well. Visiting the Skocjan cave was a very cool experience. And I was over the moon for the chance to make it to the Istrian coastal city of Piran. Emil sent us to a great restaurant once we arrived and gave us a good orientation and plenty of time to discover the town. I highly recommend this tour.

George was a wonderful tour guide. The caves are astounding. Though a bit challenging of a walk, my 91-year old mother was able to make it. Piran is a lovely town. We enjoyed the tour very much.
