The beauty of the caves is enhanced by multi-coloured stalactites and stalagmites of various shapes including curtains and limestone pools. Walking through the cave you will enjoy many waterfalls and underground halls. In the afternoon part of the visit you will enjoy the scenic ride to the most charming town on the Slovenian coast – Piran. A walk through its narrow medieval streets wedged between beautiful houses, churches and squares will take you back to the medieval times. Take your time to enjoy the breeze that blows from the sea and to admire the main square named after a famous violinist and composer Giuseppe Tartini. You will certainly enjoy the small-town ideal to wander around for a coffee, cake, gelato or some good fresh seafood.  Visit the Unesco heritage listed Škocjan caves, a majestic underground river canyon, and let it take you to world of fantasy. The exceptional volume of the underground canyon is what distinguishes the Škocjan Caves from other caves and places and is easily placed among the most famous underground features in the world. In the afternoon enjoy a scenic ride towards the Slovenian coast. Stop at Socerb castle for breath-taking views of the Slovenian coast and the Gulf of Trieste. Once in Piran you will discover the most romantic and picturesque coastal town. Piran is a tourist highlight of the Slovenian coast, strongly influenced by the old Venetian Republic. The main square is named after Giuseppe Tartini, a famous violinist and a composer who was born in Piran.

Your guide will tell you about the historical part of the town and show you the marvelous Venetian architecture. Take your time to enjoy a cup of coffee, gelato or some good fresh food. After a well spend day we will end the tour in Ljubljana, with a drop-off at your hotel.

After seeing prices for private transfers to the caves, the Slovenia Explorer tour was just perfect for weary travellers. Nina, the driver and guide was excellent. She provided detailed local knowledge and historical contexts. Nina ensured we were able to purchase our tickets to the caves (cave entry not included in tour price) and showed us the best places to take photos before entering the caves. Photos are not permitted to be taken inside the caves. Use your time in the caves to soak up their grandure. They are spectacular. The cave guide we had provided commentary in English and she was fabulous too. The Slovenia Explorer tour then took us to a few scenic vantage points and finished with a few hours to explore the seaside town of Piran, where you can purchase lunch. Nina the tour guide, took good care of us and was a very safe driver. She is an asset to the company. Highly recommend this tour if you want to see the caves, have a bit of a look around outside of the city...especially if you are an exhausted traveller.

Wowwww Wat an Excellent trip to Skocjan Caves & Piran... The guided your inside the caves were so refreshing & Amazing., Especially starting with the Silent Cave & moving towards the natural noise with the river Reka ???????????? Our tour Guide Emil - What to say about him!!! Such an outstanding Professional....So friendly ,helpful & So informative especially about the Slovenian History & Geographical features.He's So eloquent in communication. He has nice suggestions for Local restaurants as well!!! He also explained the process to become a Tourist Guide ,with 6 exams & a practical exam - Excellent from Slovenia ???????????? A smaller group on the day helped as well,which enabled Emil to give insightful information. Also covered the Socerb Village including the Sveta Jama aka The Holy Cave... And finally finishing the tour in the Adriatic Coast in the small town of Piran which was very scenic too!! This tour with the Guide Emil - Definitely Worthy & not to miss out...

My tour guide, Mr. Emil is a very considerate and kind gentleman. He taught me so many things related to history of Slovenia, geography and culture during the road trip. Appreciated very much!! Talking about the trip, the Skocjan cave was so stunning. I was like being in a magical underworld that I had never seen places like this before. I enjoyed the tranquility and the echo of each droplet fell from the ceiling as well. We also visited Piran. It is a small town but the food there was so good. Climbing up to the Piran Wall, you will see the beautiful view of the whole peninsula.
