Coki Beach was recommended over Megans Bay for better snorkeling, so we hired a taxi @ $120 round trip for two adults and two small children. The drive isn't more than four or five miles at most, but it is windy and rough the way they drive. We were one of the first to arrive and rented snorkel gear from a questionable local shop.
The good: the water, if you arrive early enough is clear and the snorkeling is good around the rocks with coral BEFORE the crowds arrive. Coki Beach isn't very large, but the sand is very nice. Also, the island has many iguanas, which was a highlight for my daughter as she loved to look for them.
The bad: 1) once the crowds arrive, the water gets cloudy very quick and underwater visibility becomes poor for snorkeling 2) TRASH/garbage all over the place 3) snorkels are not sanitized between use. They rinse the sand off and put them right back on the shelf, so bring your own wipes before putting these in your mouths and 4) and man and a woman got into a fist fight right by our kids, which didn't seem to bother the other local people. My wife didn't feel safe, so we decided to leave.
