Where do I start? After having such a horrible first day in Cairo, The tour was the best thing that could've happened. I originally was supposed to go on a tour with Toonsi, but instead, Mohamed and his assistant Mahmoud picked us up. From the moment they picked us up, it was a breath of fresh air. They did their very best to may our tour enjoyable. Upon arrival, they shared a few details about the tour and the things we had planned for today. Our first stop was the pyramids. Mohamed briefed us on the history of the pyramids and the tombs. Afterwards, he took several pictures in different areas of my boyfriend and myself (both together and separate). We opted out of going inside the pyramids, but it is an option if that's something you're interested in. Next, we went to the camels and had a camel ride to the pyramids to take more photos and soak in the sun. We didn't have enough Egyptian pounds on us, so Mohamed paid him and then we paid him back later. Our camel ride was about 30-40 mins. The camel guide let us go to a different location so we could take more pictures on the camel in front of the pyramids. We did not witness any camels being mistreated, so that was good. After visiting the pyramids, we went to the Sphinx. They took more pictures and he explained the history of it as well. As we continued our day, we stopped by some local shops where you can purchase perfumes, souvenirs, and etc and then went to ride the atvs. The atvs were such a blast (they are old, but still can move fast). The tour was done by some locals and they took us through a neighborhood (just a warno: we saw a few dead animals) and then we went into an open field to take more pictures in front of the pyramids. The guide did a few tricks with us and we rode around in the sand, while still having accessible view to the pyramids. After the atv tour, we went to lunch. I thought the food was just ok. It was a buffet that had a decent variety, but after seeing the animals, I lost my appetite. On our way to get dropped off, we all talked/ laughed and just had a grand ole time in the car. I'm so thankful I had them, because my boyfriend and I were working off 3 hours of sleep and they made us forget we were even tired. They did not rush us the entire time and was always patient throughout the entire tour. Hands down, they truly made our trip to Cairo so much better. (Just an FYI: we didn't really experience many hagglers. Mohamed made sure that no one really got close to us). If you go on a tour, please ask for Mohamed.
