Most often you will read that Korčula is the city of Marco Polo. It is true, but it is also so much more! Korčula’s records of time date back to the Neolithic period.
Legend says that fairy-tale Korčula was home to the beautiful Greek mythology hero, Kerkyra. It is even said to be named after her. These days Korčula presents a connection to nature and beautiful beaches, amongst them is also the “Croatian Santorini”. It shows thousands of years of culture, history, and tradition. Hundreds of years old oil groves, vineyards, and fruit and vegetable productions assure you that you will eat good and local in Korčula. Memories of the great Croatian singer Oliver Dragojević, who was born in Korčula, keep lovely dalmatian music and atmosphere on every step. While enjoying a glass of wine, of course.

We booked 2 trips with the company in the time that we spent in Dubrovnik. I must say everything was great - the guide was fun and helpful and even the hours long bus ride passed quickly with the beautiful views of croatia and montenegro. All in all a great experience????

I almost never write negative reviews but this needs to be said so others don’t waste a day of vacation. First of all, don’t believe the listing that says wheelchair and stroller accessible. You are climbing steps, walking a dirt path to access the boat and then trying to climb aboard. The boat barely looked seaworthy so thankfully the water was calm for the 10 minute ride. The tour leader was very controlling and acted like she was herding a group of kindergartners. She had to repeat everything in Spanish as well as English so she talked the first 4 hours or so. One of the other families on the tour had an older lady who had injured her knee recently and was wearing a knee brace. The tour leader kept saying “can’t you walk faster?” although she was keeping up with the group. I could go on but will just leave it that this was a very disappointing tour not worth the time or money. A better trip would be to take the ferry to Korcula and explore on your own.

There was a group of 18-20 of us with a driver and our tour guide, Anet, who said she was with Sombrero travel, not Deep Green. We were a mix of Spanish and English speakers, so Anet had to say everything 2x. We stopped in Ston for about 45 minutes, which was enough time for a coffee and a quick walk around. We then drove to Perna to take a boat to Korcula. The dropoff at Perna was a construction site, and we had to walk about 5 minutes to the boat. The boat was serviceable but pretty tight. Luckily, the trip across to Korcula was quick. In Korcula, Anet led us on a quick tour and told us where to find the beach and restaurants. There was plenty of time to explore. After taking the boat back to Perna, we drove to Bezek winery, for a tasting. This was lovely! Finally we were driven home. The pick-up and drop-offs were poorly organized, included multiple transfers where we had to wait in the sun, and extended the trip by over an hour. I was picked up at 7:40am and did not get home until around 5:45pm. Lastly, our sprinter van had no AC. I was in front but the people in the back were very hot. For the ride home to Dubrovnik, some guests were offered a different vehicle with working AC but not all of us.
