    This is our meeting point, we all gather here, the guide briefly presents him/herself and off we go! 1,5 h DISCOVER THE OLD TOWN tour begins! Dubrovnik never fails to awe the visitor; its streets paved with white limestone, its walls crowning the city, and its medieval sandstone-colored houses oozing with history. This 1.5-hour guided walking tour takes you deep into the city’s 1,400-year history, recalling ancient tales when Dubrovnik was one of the world’s most prosperous port cites. It tells tales of war and lets the tour-goer in on the culture of the city. After meeting in Pile area, in front of Sky bar, begin the journey through history and through Old Town. Pass the Franciscan Monastery and admire Orlando’s Column, a monument on the Stradun inspired by the city’s long-standing freedom and sovereignty. See, too, Onofrio’s Fountain, built in 1438 at the end of a 8-mile (12-km) aqueduct that gave the city its water supply. The walk also passes by the Rector’s Palace, Sponza Palace and the Cathedral of the Assumption, a baroque church built after the devastating earthquake of 1667.

    We will stop to buy the city walls tickets and then we will walk the city walls. Marvel at the beautiful blue colors of the Adriatic Sea and admire breathtaking views of the port and the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, while your guide takes you through the history of the city walls. In the 11th century, the sea channel separating the city from mainland was covered up with earth, so a single wall was built to enclose the present-day Old Town. The city walls have been restored several times in history to resemble their original appearance. With your guide, see Fort Revelin and Minceta Tower within the city walls (entrance fees not included), and learn the strategic position of these forts and their role in Dubrovnik's history. We are group of 8 on private tour with our guide Dino we had 2 day tours one to Dobrovnik pile wall,game of thrones filming including the arboretum,we took scenic route up the mountains over looking the city. More panoramic views and towns with histories, authentic restaurants and food for the locals ,amazing guide and tours very informative, we are not in a rush .we were picked up in timely manner.

We enjoyed learning about the history of Dubrovnik's Old Town and Ancient Walls. Both guides were entertaining to listen to. Also, interesting to hear about the personal experiences of both guides with the war in the 90s. The city of Dubrovnik is beautiful and we had the best time learning about its history.
