Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik, Croatia After getting picked up at your hotel in Dubrovnik, begin the hour-long journey to the Pelješac peninsula, passing over the contemporary Franjo Tudman Bridge and then cruising past ancient fishing villages along the beautiful Dalmatian Coast. On the way, learn about the history and culture of the area from your knowledgeable driver.
Mali Ston, Mali Ston, Croatia The first top is the town of Ston and its diminutive sibling, Mali Ston (Little Ston), home to some of the longest medieval walls in Europe at 4.3 miles (7 kilometers) and also some of the most delicious oysters this side of the Atlantic. Take a break for lunch in town (at own expense) and perhaps sample some of the famous oysters – even Roman emperors would have them shipped to Rome – and then continue the journey down the Pelješac peninsula, cruising along the coast. 45 minutes

This was a fun and interesting tour, which included 3 wineries. The first winery had a wine museum with a history and tools of wine making in the area. Our driver heard me express an interest in olive oil, so they provided cow cheese drizzled with their own delicious olive oil. Yum! Another winery ages some wines under the sea (a method I'd not heard of before), while the last one, was super tiny with a charismatic owner and delicious wines. Here, we had a chance to visit the grapevines in the field.
We stopped in Ston to explore a bit, and had short, unplanned stop in Mali Stone for fresh-out-of-the sea oysters. Again, our guide heard us discussing a wish to try the freshest oysters ever, and he made it happen.
Our driver/guide, Draen, was very knowledgeable about this area of Croatia, and his personal touch made the excursion the best.
