Croatia’s second longest peninsula Peljesac is famous for its red wine based on Plavac Mali wine sort (cousin of Zinfandel), delicious oysters and mussels growing in the brackish waters of Mali Ston Bay, Ston city walls, and its salt pans. It is less than an hour's drive from the city of Dubrovnik. We have been doing this tour for years and our guests absolutely adore our fisherman friend Mario, and unique experience of being alone in the bay at our fisherman's oyster beds and tasting best oysters in Mali Ston right from the sea. You'll enjoy: - Walking tour of Ston – Gothic medieval town, surrounded by 6 kilometers of city walls and its famous 14. salt pans. - Private boat ride with local fisherman to his oyster beds and oysters (5 per pax) and wine tasting on site - wine-tasting in a local boutique winery – great wine and organic olive oil tasting Tour with an experienced local English-speaking driver/guide.     Our group will be welcomed by local fisherman Mario and will ride in his boat through the picturesque calm Mali Ston Bay to Mario's oyster beds followed by oyster tasting on site (5 oysters per person accompanied with Mario's home made white wine). Group will learn about oyster farming and hear curiosities about people and customs of the area.

    Best place to try Plavac Mali - famous red wine variety of the area is Ponikve village. Ponikve valley is known for wine production from 13 ct. (Dubrovnik medieval aristocrats were often drinking delicious red wines from Ponikve). Tour will stop at a family own winery where guests will have the chance to meet winery owner and listen to the wine presentation followed by wine tasting (total of 5 wines and liqueurs)

Had a great time with Miho. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating of our group's requests. The winery he took us to likewise had very knowledgeable staff (and good wine), and the oyster boat experience was once in a lifetime. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our trip to Ston with visit to oyster farm and wine tasting. Zeljko is an excellent guide and driver; very friendly and knowledgeable. We appreciate Mario taking us out on his small boat to harvest oysters to enjoy on the boat with his wine. Great fun! Then, onto a winery for our official wine tasting. Wonderful wines! We highly recommend this tour if you enjoy oysters and wine. It’s a sec drive from Dubrovnik. A unique experience. A big Thank You to Zelijko and Mario.

We had a fantastic time with Miho from Doria Tours. We were picked up at our AirBNB in Dubrovnik and taken to an oyster farm in Peljesac where we met Mario, a local oyster farmer. He showed us how oysters had been farmed there for centuries and served us oysters straight out of the water with some local wine. We then had an amazing visit to a nearby winery, tasting several types of grappa and 6-7 great wines (red and white). The tour guide was very friendly and generous with his time and knowledge. Finally, we visited the city of Ston, encircled by the second longest wall in the world (2nd only to the great wall of China), before we were brought back to our place. Throughout the tour Miho was a pleasure to be with - sharing tons of information about Dubrovnik and Croatian history and society. He went out of his way to take care of us, even pulling one of his daughter's vests from his trunk when my daughter was cold. I would highly recommend this tour and guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
