I had a great day on the Danube Bend tour. It was a somewhat large group, with both Italian and English spoken, but our guide was impressive at speaking both fluently.
The stop in Esztergom was great, even on Easter Sunday. I really appreciated the time to walk around on our own (or to stick with the guide if you wanted!). And I loved the quick stop over in Slovakia, with a view of Esztergom over the Danube.
I wish we’d been able to tour the castle in Visegrad, but I think it might’ve been closed because of the holiday. Lunch at the top was still nice, especially the view.
Szentendre was unsurprisingly busy, but we had free range to roam about on our own, so I loved my time walking up through the quiet, hilly residential parts of town. Lovely architecture, gardening, and cats!
In all, I felt like I got a great “slice” of different parts of the Danube Bend area. It was also a nice diversion from doing things in Budapest; it broke my trip up nicely.
