    It begins with a boat ride from Shelter Cove Marina to the back side of Daufuskie Island. The ride is an important part of the tour! Along the way we will stop for dolphins and other wildlife, plus view and discuss the sites on Daufuskie and the neighboring islands that are best seen from the water. Once on Daufuskie, you'll get on golf carts and take a tour of the historic, undeveloped side of the island. We stop at all of the significant historic sites, visit with local residents, and the artisans of Daufuskie.

We went with Capt. Pete on the 8 am history tour and it was a lot of fun, from the boat ride to the history lessons. There is no shade on the boat so sunscreen is a must, but the wind is refreshing when he can go a little faster. Capt. Pete is very personable and a walking encyclopedia on the history of the area. The golf cart tour of Daufuskie hit all the interesting points. We especially enjoyed stopping at Indigo Blues and learning how it’s made. We stayed on schedule without feeling hurried and truly enjoyed every minute. Would highly recommend.

Captain Pete is the man of the sea. He made our first Daufuskie experience a true eco system experience. Have much more respect for our lovely low country lifestyle. I love Outside Hilton Head and DMC. I'm a customer for life!!

This is the only way to really experience Daufuskie Island. Captain Pete was an exceptionally knowledgeable guide. Not only will you learn the history of the island, but you will also learn about the Lowcountry. I especially enjoyed visiting some of the island artisans where you have the opportunity to purchase (without any pressure) some very unique gifts. Don’t hesitate to book this trip.
