Join us on a very unique and exclusive catamaran day trip (4.5 hours) to Playa Fantasia. Our day trip departs at 11 am from Playa Herradura cruising 40 minutes up the Gulf of Nicoya to a secluded beach. Playa Fantasia is a beach, accessible only by water, a beach with sprawling jungle, reef formations, white sand and turquoise waters. Untouched and full of marine and wildlife such as Monkeys, Scarlet Macaws, Turtles, and of course, all our rescued animals. Included, you will have a beautiful fresh lunch cooked by our private chef at Playa Fantasia as well as a bar of fresh Pina Coladas, margaritas, mojitos, beer, soda and water. Fresh fruits served throughout the entire tour. At Playa Fantasia, you have access to boogie boards, paddleboards, surfboard, snorkel gear (unguided) hammocks and beach loungers. This tour is an excellent alternative to Tortuga Island to avoid the crowds and is a great short and sweet day trip perfect for families with children, couples, and singles.

    Playa Fantasia is a secluded beach where our client stop to enjoy the naturally untouched jungle that flows to the beach. Lounge chairs, hammocks, boogie boards, paddle boards, and snorkel equipment is all available free of charge. Our chef prepares a great light lunch at the beach before departing.

  • There is plenty of shaded areas on board, please prepare to spend majority of your tour in direct or indirect sunlight. For safety reasons spray sunscreens are not permitted.
  • Our cruise is not a booze cruise, if you are looking for a booze cruise, you will be disappointed
  • Our crew reserves the right to refuse entry to passengers who are intoxicated, without refund. Our crew also reserves the right to stop serving alcohol if it affects the safety of passengers.
  • We board the large catamaran from small tenders from the beach. Long dresses, and pants are not recommended.
  • Snorkel equipment is available, snorkelling is not guided.
  • Vegetarian option is available, please advise at time of booking if required
  • You will be notified by a representative of your pickup time, our transportation will only wait 5 minutes at each stop before moving to the next stop. If you miss your transportation time, your tour will be cancelled without refund.
  • Banana boat rides are $15 per guest at Playa Fantasia.
  • ID is necessary to use all snorkel equipment, paddle boards and boogie boards.
  • If you are in Jaco in our Winter time (May 15th - December 15th) the chances for good snorkeling are 50/50, since it is the rainy season all depends on good weather and good ocean conditions. and it is not under our control, however we offer other activities like boogie boards, surf boards, SUP Paddle boards, as well as Soccer and Beach Volleyball on our tours in order to entertain and give our clients an unforgettable experience.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

We can’t say enough good things about this tour. The guys that operate the catamaran were courteous and attentive. The trip was everything we could have hoped for and more. We snorkeled and swam and were treated to an absolutely delicious lunch on the private beach where we saw a coati and so many adorable hermit crabs. There was a volleyball net on the beach and lots of paddle boards and outdoor choices for the water. Safety was important to the tour guides and they took good care of me when I got motion sickness in the water. My family and I recommend this tour 100%.

While the beach was nice and it’s always lovely to be on the water, we were very disappointed with the service we received. We have done 6 other excursions while in Costa Rica and have been so impressed by the friendly and I formative guides. Unfortunately, we had a very different experience on the boat. The captain was rude and dismissive. Perhaps we caught him on an off day, but I would have a hard time recommending them.

This was a really really great day. Our family spent the day with the tour guides and we had a blast. If you like soccer, let them know, we played a full game The food was excellent as well. They grilled some really good chicken and steak. I highly recommend this trip to anyone. Pura Vida!!!!
