    Day Tour Sakkara, Memphis & Dahshur Your guide for the day will pick you up and begin your guided tour with a drive through the countryside to Sakkara to see the Step Pyramid - the first pyramid to be built and the surrounding monuments. Your guide will give you a detailed history on Imhotep, the Egyptian architect who created this pyramid and how he accomplished this major undertaking. When we finish exploring this area we will visit the Pyramid of Teti with its inscribed texts, and several private tombs. Following is a visit to the open air Museum at Memphis where the Colossus of Ramses the II, the largest statue of Ramses the Great can be seen in the place where it was discovered, see the Alabaster Sphinx alongside. After that we will go to the South of Saqqara which stands the pyramids of Dhashur (Dahshur).

  • Pyramids of Dahshour, Giza, Egypt
    The Red Pyramid and the Bent Pyramid are about 2 km south of the Mastaba Faraoun. The constructor of these pyramids is thought to have been Snofru (2575 - 2551 BC), who was the first ruler of the 4th Dynasty. Snofru built these two pyramids and is thought to have built the pyramid at Maidoun. His son was Cheops who continued his constructive tendencies. On the way back to Cairo we will stop at a local school of carpet making where you will see the local nimble-fingered children weaving carpets and wall hangings. At the end of the day transfer you back to hotel.

It was a lovely tour with a very friendly guide and chauffeur. Good explanations of things we pass by in good English. We were given enough time to experience the sites. What I also liked is that there were options for the starting time, since we stayed at a place far away from the pick up spots so we had to travel a little beforehand. Our female guide Adlaah was very knowledgeable and very friendly and helpful. She is the best guide until now. Thanks for a very fine day.

I had a very bad experience, wish I would have never booked this tour.. The guide didn’t guide, just let me alone walking without information. I asked for water they gave me an open half full Bottle. When buyed entrances the guide kept the change for himself. He joined sellers to charge me abusive prices as 8 dolars for a redbull and 40 dollars to take a pic with a camel - I end up negotiating for 5 dollars myself the camel pics. When I asked about the pyramids he desencoraje me “nothing to see inside” always! I looked at the others groups and wanted to cry, my dream travel became a nightmare. I wish I had my money and my time back, worst day in Egypt.
