Delphi is one of most famous sites of ancient Greece. It is located at the foot Mt. Parnassus. It is a 229 miles from Athens.We’ll arrive at ancient Delphi around noon after having taken a scenic drive through mountains and fertile valleys and pass traditional towns such as Levadia and Arachova enjoying breathtaking views of the Greek countryside. Delphi was the most famous oracle of the ancient world. It was regarded as the center of the world.The oracle became internationally known for the oracular powers of Pythia, the priestess who sat on a tripod, inhaled ethylene gases and muttered incomprehensible words that foretold the future.We will visit the temple of Athena Pronaia, the Castalia Spring the Stadium the temple of the god Apollo, the sacred way, the treasury house of Athenians the old theater and the Museum After ancient Delphi we’ll visit the modern city of Delphi where we stop for lunch in one of the traditional taverns.After lunch we’ll drive back to Athens city.

Everything, especially our driver, George. He was very attentive. He was flexible with our schedule. When asked to recommend a place to get Greek honey, he stopped at a local honey shop.

Our family of 3 (17 year old son) had a fun and very informative trip to Delphi w Terry. He arrived at our hotel for pick up promptly with his very clean Mercedes. We then headed toward Delphi as he explained our day and suggested we tour a monastery rather than Thermopylae, and we were so happy he did. It was a highlight for certain. Terry provided wonderful company, humor and a vivid and detailed history lesson for us throughout the day. We were well prepared for our Delphi tour and afterward we had a lovely lunch of local cuisine at Homestead with a European flair and a view in the town of Delphi. Day was a 10/10.

Our driver picked us up at our hotel. On the drive to Delphi, he showed us two videos (on an iPad) about Delphi that were very informative, and after the videos, he answered our questions. At Delphi, we had more than enough time to walk around and view the site. When we left, our drive (who was always extremely cordial) let us stop for lunch before returning to Athens. A very pleasant day!
