this is a must-do if you want to really enjoy the Diamondhead experience. the hike is easy for most people but the view and the tour is amazing!

We bought the walking tour pass and showed up at Diamond Head by 10 am. Park sent us away to buy online passes and parking which were already sold out for the day. This tour noted we needed to buy, but nothing was said about needing to buy online in advance. We left with no hiking tour. Requested refund for our $10 through the booking and was just sent a bunch of links that weren’t helpful since the park was sold out for the day.

This was really unfortunate! We got to our park reservation at 2pm and the PHC people did not want to give us the audio supplies because the closed at 4pm…they continued to discourage us even though we said we could be up and back writing an hour and a half…the staff lady made it very clear that she did not want to have to hike up in the mud to retrieve the audio systems should we not make it back…Even though it was only $15 it is not worth the hassle.. just read the brochure that the park rangers give you out loud…There’s your audio tour! Also, maybe I missed it but I didn’t see anywhere where it states you must also make a park reservation and pay for parking which are additional costs.
