Uncover the hidden wonders of secluded gorges and marvel at the beauty of rock formations such as Arch Rock and The Sphinx.     Spend a magical day on a 72,000 acre private property nestled amongst the sandstone cliffs of the Carnarvon Ranges. Travelling about 1.46 hour drive North of Roma with our knowledgeable and experienced ecologist as your guides, they will share information about the flora and fauna found in the area along the way. Our first stop on the property is a historical Aboriginal site called the Axe Factory to investigate a secret cave. Next we make a stop at Date Rock followed by Cycad Gorge to enjoy lunch in the ambiance of this gorgeous Outback Queensland location set among “dinosaur plants” while also admiring the surrounding cliffs and “Arch Rock“. After lunch we travel up a rocky range track to take in the breathtaking views of the Arcadia Valley before heading to Rainbow Cave which involves a short 50m uphill walk on uneven, rocky ground. Here we admire authentic Aboriginal art before then enjoying light refreshments just down the track admiring The Sphinx for the foreground.

Our tour guide, Rose whose expert knowledge about plants, indigenous history and the environment was outstanding. We felt very privileged to be led by her. She fielded all of our questions with ease and opened our eyes to the wonders of a working beef cattle station. It was a full day in a four-wheel drive van and the food provided was not only plentiful, but it was also delicious. The places we were taken too were breathtaking, remote and not open to the public which made it a unique experience to view aboriginal cave paintings, soaring sandstone cliffs and the spectacular Arcadia valley. We will treasure this unique tour. It exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended.

This was the second time around for me and it didn't disappoint! Meryl was as delightful and as informative as ever. We visited many sites on Wallaroo, each with their own delights. Absolutely recommend this tour!

Great tour through Wallaroo. Very informative about farming, property life and Wallaroo history. Tasty food for morning tea and lunch. Highly recommended.
