The meeting point was easy to find per the instructions given. I was listed as a small group tour, but being low season, we were the only ones on the tour--a private tour!!!
Marina was our tour guide. She is Genovese and her English is excellent. It was not difficult to understand her, nor she us. The walking part of the tour covered a lot of the city--old and new. Marina was able to explain the history of the city--old and new and give us an idea of everyday life. The food tour part was unbelievable. From Genoa Port street food (a cone filled with lightly fried seafood) to the entrees and desserts and drinks, it was better than expected. Marina also took us to the oldest, still functioning chocolate store for samples and a tour.
We would definitely recommend the tour.
The only critique that we have is the tour should end where it began. The tour ends in the newer part of the city. We needed to walk back to the train station and followed google maps. Unfortunately, the path led us through some unsavory parts of town that could have been a problem.
