The Bike tour and our guide Mairim was a highlight of my entire trip to the Dominican Republic. I was here with my Spanish class to learn more and practice. While Mairim could have given us the tour in English, we wanted to practice listening and comprehending Spanish. They were extremely patient with us and took their time explaining and answering questions.
They easily accommodated us taking a detour to see more of the malecón and ride along the coast. They also helped us out when someone was struggling with their bike and ended up returning to get and electric one so they could enjoy the tour as well.
I loved hearing the entire history and Mairim was very knowledgeable. They presented the complex history in a way that was easy to digest and we were able to laugh and joke along the way as well. I loved our stop at the end in Santa Bárbara to hear more about the thriving and vibrant community there. Would definitely recommend and do again in the future!
