Submerge yourself deep into the routs and what Santo Domingo culture has to offer! We will experience a tour full of historic events, historic sights, iconic landmarks as well as enjoy a full Dominican meal "mofongo" full of flavor and explanation of its origin. We will Ride the colonial Zone in a electric scooter, see sights like the "First Street", the "Alcazar de Colon", as well as other sights. We will also travel to the Three Eyes Caves National park and the Columbus Lighthouse. Finally we will make our way to the restaurant "Mofongo Heaven", a restaurant that specializes in the famous plate called Mofongo. Please note: the total duration of the tour it’s approximately 5 to 5:30 hours. Including all tourist point and the travel time to each specification. (Punta cana tours take an additionla 3 hours because of the bus ride)

    To finalized the tour our final stop will be, A typical mom and pops owned restaurant rich in flavor, seasoning and culture. With their main Focus being the traditional Latin plate Mofongo. They pride themselves in sharing the importance of the green plantain and how in the Dominican culture it plays such an important role in their every day life. Serving a large variety of Green Plantain based dishes. We will enjoy one of the dished and a natural fruit based juice. (not included in the scooter part only tour)

Unfortunately this trip was cancelled by the vendor the night before due to lack of enough interest for that day. The message came through Trip Advisor’s app at 9:50 pm and I didn’t check it assuming that because Trip Advisor had sent me numerous email reminders the trip was a go. We went to the meeting place that am and no one arrived to pick us up. Wasted $70 US on cab rides. The vendor did offer a discounted alternative day however we were disheartened and didn’t want to spend another $70 on a cab. We have been reimbursed as well. If you go make sure to check the app late at night to ensure the trip is a go. My fault for not doing that!

The Full Day Guided Tour was amazing. We were greeted by Junior our guide and were made to feel like good friends. Throughout the scooter tour Junior gave us historical facts as we viewed the Colonial District of Santa Domingo. We were never rushed and enjoyed every minute. After the scooter tour we took a comfortable ride to The 3 Eyes National Park. It was beautiful with its under ground pools of clear water and caves. We finished by eating Mofongo, which was delicious, and talking about our tour and Dominican Republic. Thank you Junior I have already recommended you to friends.
