The historic Old Liffey Ferry was once used to transport dock workers in the late 20th Century from their place of living on one side of the river in the local maritime villages there, to the busy port of Dublin on the other side of the river. Our tour offers passengers the chance to experience the history first hand. Our guides are all trained in-house and possess a natural love of the history of the ferry, the Port, the River, the City and those who have called it home throughout the years.

This is a great trip. A different perspective of Dublin. Our guide was a local with great knowledge of the port. Definitely recommend to Dubliners and tourists.

This trip is highly recommended to anyone visiting Dublin with an interest maritime history.The tour provides a fascinating insight to Dublin Port and its rich history.Well done to the old liffey ferry team!I’m looking to doing the tour again soon

Great trip. The boat is small and open and makes you really feel part of the river. Even when it began to rain it was cool as being exposed to the elements is part of the fun of being on a boat (we weren't really that exposed as we were all offered ponchos). The guide was excellent as he was a local and a historian so well able to tell us about the city and the port from both perspectives. We got to see a beautiful Argentinian tall ship, to watch containers being loaded onto a container ships and got right to the foot of the Poolbeg Towers. As a local I loved learning about my city from a new perspective and seeing the city from the river. Well worth the money and I'll definitely do it again. Would highly recommend it.
