Our tour started with a warm welcome from our guide, Al. As we wondered the streets of Edinburgh, Al filled our time with his extensive knowledge of Scotland and well as interesting tidbits of each restaurant we visited. Asking questions of us along the way we felt he was genuinely interested in what our thoughts were as well. We can’t say enough about him and the tour. Had a tremendous afternoon.

This is a must do tour. Our pride of Scottish guide Al was informative and humorous. We walked the city stopping at rare find eateries enjoying everything from hagas to scotch. Our guide was able to regale us with historical information about buildings, landmarks, and tales of the royal rulers. If you can request him as a guide he is a wealth of information on Edinburg history.

I will start out by saying that this tour was handled very well by Sara, and also by the girl (SO sorry that I've forgotten her name!) who was being trained that day to be a tour leader. We visited different establishments, the first serving the most delicious smoked Scottish salmon, cheeses, meats, bread along with a glass of our choice of wine or beer. We had a beer tasting at another stop, with fabulous Fierce beer, which I didn't realize was beer until Sara let us know, it was more of a fizzy berry drink, which I do wish was offered to us here in the States. We had a stop at a whiskey tasting bar, where Sara encouraged us to close our eyes and try to recognize the elements in the whiskey, as she also did with the Fierce beer. We were then offered the traditional dish of haggis, which I had no interest in, but, they had a vegetarian version, which was very good and I would not hesitate to order again when in Scotland. We had Sticky Toffee dessert at another stop which was great. This tour was informative, fun, and interesting, and the food was great. Sara is friendly and interesting to talk to. We had a great time and I recommend Walk/Eat tours!
