We had a 9 night private tour of Egypt with my wife organized by Ramasside Tours, and we were extremely satisfied with all aspects. The booking was really easy, Mahmoud was answering always very quickly and always understood what I wanted. The bookings of the hotels and the cruise were also flawless and the detailed itinerary with all add-ons was just what I wanted (slightly longer than their standard tour - we added an extra day in Cairo and a trip down to Abu Simbel at the end). The Ramasside representative was already waiting for us at the Cairo airport before the passport control, which was very easy and quick. Our hotel in Cairo was Le Meridien Pyramids and it was pretty good, up to Western standards. The pool has a view of the Pyramids. Our guides in Cairo were Mahmoud (during the day) and Ayoub (evenings). Both were excellent, Mahmoud took us to the pyramids, camel ride, pyramids at Dashur, Memphis and Saqqara the first day, then the museum, the citadel and the bazaar the second day, and a super walking tour of Cairo the third day. Ayoub was with us for the sound and light show, the dinner cruise and the several more check-ins and check outs. The second part of our journey was in upper Egypt, and we had Sam (Haytham) with us for 5 days. Sam was really wonderful - he made sure every detail is worked out perfectly, had a deep knowledge of ancient Egypt, and is a really kind person. He made sure we avoid any crowds and since the temperature in upper Egypt in July is > 40C we went to most places very early in the morning to avoid the excessive heat during the day, or in the evenings. The Valley of the Kings is unbelievable, especially the tomb of Ramses VI, make sure you include that. Karnak and Luxor temples are amazing, and the Luxor museum is worth seeing too - much smaller than Cairo but well organized and only high quality. The cruise ship (Jaz Regency) was nice, our cabin was big enough and we had good ac. The temples we stopped on the way from Luxor to Aswan were definitely worth seeing, and in Aswan we saw Philae temple, the high dam and the Nubian museum, as well as a carriage ride in the evening. Our last day was the excursion to the amazing Abu Simbel. While it is very far, it is definitely a must do once you are in Egypt, for me it was one of the best sights. Overall I had an excellent time in Egypt, and would definitely recommend Ramasside Tours - they made everything easy and extremely well organized. Every aspect of the actual trip was just like they promised, the drivers were excellent both in Cairo, Luxor and Aswan, no hidden extra charges, no gimmicks, and when we said we did not want to do a particular shopping stop they skipped it without any problems. I would most definitely like to come back to Egypt and use Ramasside again.
