Even on a 24 hour layover you can get a great tour that hits all your must sees in a short time. My airport pick up was seamless quick. Hussein Ismail was my tour guide. Wasn't a question he didn't hesitate to answer. Assem was my driver, such a open book ask him he will try his best to answer. Don't forget to ask about the dinner cruise. I didn't think I was able to add that to the layover but, it happened. They even dropped me off at my hotel. Such a wonderful day I had. Promise you don't miss out this memorable experience. Highly recommended.

We purchased the “day tour Giza pyramids Egyptian museum local bazaars from Cairo airport” as our layover tour. We were picked up by a driver who was quite competent in maneuvering the Cairo roadways which appeared to be no easy feat. He took us to meet our guide Rania at the Egyptian museum and from that point forward, we were in good hands. We had an enjoyable time at the Egyptian museum but more time should have been spent here than the time allotted. Next, we were off to the Giza pyramids which again was enjoyable but we arrived essentially too close to their closing which was annoying. The itinerary should have been reversed – visit the pyramids first since it was the furthest and then the museum since it had late night openings on the day we were there. Instead, once we completed our time at the pyramids we were off to go shopping. Mind you, I have absolutely not a care in the world for this. The papyrus shop was interesting as well as enjoyable but again not purchasing anything. She then suggested a third shop for argon oils and at that point I refused and said I’d rather go back to the airport. My suggestion would be to charge the customer more if they are not interested in these shopping side trips especially for those of us short on time and came to Cairo to experience the sites.
