    After pick-up from your hotel,in a private, modern a/c van (WiFi on board) your private guide will take you to Old Cairo to see the wonderful Hanging Church,so called because it was built on the Roman Tower of the fortress of Babylon. Then you will see the famous crypt in which the Holy Family stayed beneath the church of Abu Serga.. Next, explore the Ben Ezra synagogue of the Jewish community. Your guide will make sure you learn a lot about the unique type of Christianity in Egypt. Your guide will take you to a local restaurant for a typical Egyptian lunch before driving you back to your hotel.

We were very disappointed in this tour, especially compared to many of the excellent guided tours we experienced elsewhere on this trip. Instead of a half-day, the tour was completed in 90 minutes, long before lunchtime. Our guide was pleasant good natured but provided very few insights beyond the bare basics. I would not recommend this company based on our experience.

Great tour. pickup in good vehicle on time with knowledgable guide and driver. He was happy togo back to a church whch hada servicein progress when we arrived.

Had a great day with Sayed on our Coptic Cairo tour. He met us at our hotel and was even nice enough to drop us at the Egyptian museum on the way back. The hanging church and cavern church were incredible, and we loved the Koshary lunch (even though we know it's a pretty simple dish). Sayed was a 5 star guide but the tour gets 4 because the Ben Ezra synagogue was closed for renovations - and had been for a while, but there was no mention of that when we booked. Some of the workers showed us photos on their phone, but that's not much of a tour even though we payed full price for the experience. Before lunch we did go to the Papyrus and perfume factory - which we wanted to do, but is very much an upsell and can be uncomfortable if you don't want to haggle and/or aren't looking to buy those types of souvenirs. If you don't want to go to papyrus, cotton, or perfume make sure to be firm with your guide as nearly *all* tour guides will want to take you on those side journeys. If you do want to go (like we did) just know you're probably overpaying, but whatever the price is worth to you is what matters. If you really want to play hardball name a price slightly lower than what you'd want to pay, then when they counter just say no and start to walk away and they'll probably meet you in the middle. Again, haggling isn't for everyone and the papyrus/perfume experience can feel like a weird middle-eastern timeshare experience so just make sure to be clear with your guide if you want it or not.
