So, this is newer tour so there’s not a lot of reviews on it yet, but I am confident this will have high demand and sell out in the future.
Everyone in visiting Cairo for the first time will want to see the pyramids etc (as well you should). But if you want an adventure story, something unique to tell your family about when you get home, an experience that will change for every tour (no tourist will have the exact same experience as you, all the stories and conversations will be different), and insight into the heart of Egypt, book this tour now.
Our experience?
My husband and I were instantly found and greeted at our hotel by our host for the evening, Mai. Mai was a life saver and fundamental to our introduction to Egyptian culture (as this was our first night in Egypt). Mai marches to the beat of her own drum - she’s a writer and journalist, and is actively part of big changes in Egypt (again, book her before she’s famous - the day is coming). She was fun, patient, an expert on all things Egypt, and helped us understand what to expect on the tour, made sure we were happy and comfortable, and helped us understand the dynamics of many facets of Egyptian life.
We sailed on a felucca, had some Koshary, met some street cats (technically that isn’t officially part of the tour), and settled in for shishah and tea for a deep conversation with our local companions. Over the evening, we met successful journalists, poets, script writers - you name it. I won’t tell you the stories here, because they are truly yours to come find out...
There is no tour we recommend more. There’s many amazing things to do Egypt (pyramids, museums, etc), but if you want something that feels authentic and connected to the true people and artists of Cairo, then choose this tour. You won’t be disappointed.
