    The permanent collection is divided into two separate regions, one chronological the other thematic. The chronological areas will be the following: Archaic, Pharaonic, Greco-Roman, Coptic, Medieval, Islamic, modern and contemporary. The thematic areas will be the following: Dawn of Civilization, The Nile, Writing, State and Society, Material Culture, Beliefs and Thinking and the Gallery of Royal Mummies. UNESCO provided technical help to the museum. The collections was taken from other Egyptian museums such as the Egyptian Museum, the Coptic Museum, the Museum of Islamic Art, the Manial Palace and Museum in Cairo, and the Royal Jewelry Museum in Alexandria. On 3 April 2021, the museum was officially opened, right before the moving of 22 mummies, including 18 kings and four queens, from the Egyptian Museum in an event termed the Pharaohs' Golden Parade.

Sara, our tour guide was awesome! She is very knowledgeable. She explained everything in the museum to us so that we could have a better understanding of all we saw! Kyrillos, our driver was fantastic! The museum was great! Great history and exhibits! Museum was well structured and put together!

Dina was amazing!!!! She is so sweet and knowledgeable. We were picked up directly from the hotel right on time and made our way safely to the Museum. The Civilization Museum was incredible. Dina took us all around and gave the backstory about all the incredible objects. This Museum was incredible, you literally get to see the Ramses from the Moses story!!! It’s hard to take in all the objects because the history of them is overwhelming!!!!
