Begin with pickup at your centrally-located hotel or cruise ship the exact time of departure depends on your location, and will be confirmed by the local supplier after booking. Transfer to a jetty on the Nile River, where you’ll board a boat for Sohail Island. you’ll travel in a modern motorboat. Take in views of the Nile riverbanks on the way to Sohail Island, passing Elephantine Island along the way. Disembark on Sohail Island, and visit a traditional Nubian house to learn about the history and culture of the Nubian people over a glass of welcome tea. After your time at the house, take a walk to explore the island on your own, strolling through brightly-painted villages, and chatting with the locals. At the end of the afternoon, meet back up at the boat jetty, where you’ll begin the return trip to Aswan. This tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel or cruise ship

Nosotros hicimos el tour con nuestro guía del barco que contrató una faluca para nosotros. Fue un paseo y un día delicioso. Fuimos a otro pueblo nubio, un anciano profesor nos enseñó el alfabeto y los números en una escuelita decorada con colores vivos, como sus casas. Después nos invitaron a una casa nubia y nos invitaron a te, dulces, quesos y otras viandas. Evidentemente es todo turístico pero lo ingenuo y lo entrañable estaba por encima de todo. Yo diría que de lo mejorcito de todo Egipto.

Our visit to Aswan and the Nubian village was by far the best. It was a great experience filled with so much history and we enjoyed learning about the Nubian way of life. Our tour guide Dowa was amazing. She was very friendly, knowledgeable and hospitable and the boat driver was very friendly as well. We really appreciate them and helping to make our experience a memorable one.
