The Hanging Church is built into the walls of the watergate of the Roman fortress and is possibly the oldest Christian church in Egypt. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, it is one of Cairo's most beautiful churches. Continue to the Monastery and Church of St George. Your next stop is the Abu Serga, one of the places where the Holy Family rested after fleeing Israel from King Herod. Then visit Ben Ezra Synagogue is one of the oldest in Egypt and has the chance to purchase genuine items if you wish. Your tour Including Lunch.

Had a wonderful morning with Will - Ibermundo Travel- wandering around 3rd century Coptic cathedrals and synagogues. Felt very safe and unhassled as a solo female traveller. Will was quite knowledgeable about the history and I learnt a lot. Fantastic architecture - a thoroughly pleasant morning. Highly recommended
