It was amazing I learned a lot from my guide Ahmed Abu Emirah, he kindly explained everything in all the places we went, they picket me up in directly in the hotel, the experience is so amazing I would recommend to do it, the city of the dead is a must if you visit Cairo, thanks!!!

Amazing half day tour! Our guide was Mahmoud and driver Khalid were the keys to an incredible experience. Mahmoud has great English and was very thorough and knowledgeable about Islam and the Alabaster Mosque. He walked us through both the history and the teachings of the religion, and how they relate.
The City of the Dead was unique and probably not for everyone: it is a group of tombs for families in Cairo under the care of poor families who live outside the tombs. By “outside”, I mean that the tomb is like a room in their house. It was definitely awkward for us to step inside to someone’s home, walk by their beds to see an attraction, as a tourist. I accepted their offer for tea and Mahmoud led a quiet conversation that was engaging. I never felt unsafe or unwelcome, but it’s a new sensation. I thanked the caretaker family with 100 EGP but I have no idea what’s expected. I hope you give this a try to see how different people live in Cairo.

We had a great tour of the City of the Dead and the Alabaster Mosque with our phenomenal guide Fatmia with Tree of Life Tours. She was very knowledgeable so it was really interesting to speak with her about past and present Egyptian history. On our way back to our hotel she treated us to fresh squeezed sugar cane juice which was delicious. We would highly recommend this tour with Fatmia!!
