For anyone who is interested to visit the GEM before the official opening. Enjoy a trial phase of the Grand Egyptian Museum. Museum Policy and Regulations: - The commercial tours for the pretrial phase don’t include the museum interior spaces, access to the main galleries and the two Tutankhamun galleries. The galleries will remain closed in preparation for the full museum opening. - The atrium contains valuable monuments and artifacts that has been preserved for thousands of years. Help us preserve them for more years by not touching them, eating in the main hall and smoking inside of the museum. - There is currently no refund policy, as we are still conducting a pre-trial phase for our exclusive guests. - Be advised that arrival time should be 15 minutes prior to your tour. - VIP tours are only optional during the weekdays

The Hanging Obelisk The Hanging Obelisk is an amazing example of ancient Egyptian engineering and is one of the most interesting artifacts displayed at the Grand Egyptian Museum. After an earthquake, the obelisk fell over but surprisingly stayed suspended on its side, which is why it’s called the "Hanging Obelisk." It was originally meant for the Karnak Temple Complex but was later moved to Alexandria, where it was set up in the city's central square. Ramses II Statue The giant statue of Ramses II, known as "Ramses the Great," impressively towers over visitors, showcasing the power of ancient Egypt's most famous pharaoh.     One of the world’s great museums, enhanced by our guide, Abanoub, who not only told us dates and facts, but also had such passion that he brought it all to life! Tour Egypt Club created a fantastic itinerary for us, and this museum was a highlight! (Wear comfortable shoes!)

    Although not completely open yet - it’s well worth seeing the various galleries. Will be a unique museum in the long run when king Tut arrives !

    My guide Samaa Atef met me at my hotel on time with a driver and took us to the Great Egyptian Museum in Giza. She explained each of the monuments including the hanging obelisk and giant Ramses. The building itself is amazing to regard. There was no book or video about this award winning amazing museum structure. She encouraged me to try some unique local dishes in the Egyptian cafe.
