The Bologna Welcome walking tour is a perfect way for newcomers to become familiar with central Bologna. It’s a two hour tour that’s full of handy tips about which places to return to. Our guide Michaela showed us the best places for gelato, local cheese and meat and the historical sites and museums we’ll return to at a more leisurely pace. It’s also a very inexpensive option. Just go to the tourism office opposite the Basilica of San Petronio, and buy a Bologna Welcome pass. For 35 euros for the standard pass or 55 for a pass with the lot you get the walking tour, entry to a range of museums and galleries, 4 hours bike rental, train fare up the mountain, hop on hop off bus trip, discounts and various other offers.

Francesco gave us a great history lesson along with the tour! The tour covered ancient ruins, historic sites, and a trip through the markets to learn more about the local cuisine. We highly recommend this tour!
