This is a private tour so it will be just your group and guide (plus the ghosts of York). Our experienced guide will tell you tales from Yorks' gruesome past, executions, murders, the plague and ghosts, as we make our way round some of the spookiest places in the city. The price is per group. As it is by private booking, we can be flexible about your exact requirements, start time, and pick-up point. We can offer hotel pick ups* and as we can start at different locations, the tour route can be customised. *City centre only. Check before booking.

Excellent walk around York. Nigel is very knowledgeable and entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would definitely do it again if back in York.

Nigel was absolutely amazing! My daughter and I have fancied a ghost tour quite a while. I've held off because she got ADHD and her attention span is very short. She gets so quickly distracted and enterupts or starts cart wheeling. This would disturb a larger group so I thought a walk with just her and me would be less stressful. Well, she was mesmerised by Nigel's stories, and not only that, Nigel included her in the story telling, answered her questions, and did not get visibly annoyed when she interrupted him or started telling stories herself. It resulted in a fantastic couple of hours (I thought she would last max one hour) and she was just enough scared to keep focus and she still remembers every story he told us, she already retold them several times ????. His knowledge on the history of York is amazing and both of us learned a lot about Yorks fascinating history. Thank you Nigel ????

Nigel was our tour host and his knowledge and story telling was impeccable! He really made the experience excellent, he was also able to tell the stories in a way that was ‘scary’ enough but not too much as we had youngsters with us. I’d highly recommend the tour if you want to learn something different about York.
