The South Downs National Park is a spectacularly beautiful area of rolling hills and scarp slopes. The South Downs Way runs 100 miles (160km) from Winchester to Eastbourne. We are close to the seaside resort of Brighton and just one hour by train from London.

I have been eyeing on the South Downs Way for such a long time. I had a great day thanks to Colin @ Hassocks Community Cycle Hire. I feel like lottery waiting for what bike I'm going to ride. Colin prepared a large size Orbea hard-tail, which was fantastic with confidence building Kenda tyre. A repair kit, pump and tyre are all provided for. Paper map from the shop is useful when things don't work as planned (GPS crash, phone battery died). Next time I'll come by train because the centre is right in front of the station.
