The Gannel estuary is a wildlife haven, situated between Newquay and Crantock it long existed as a hideaway for smugglers but has now been taken over by numerous birds and other species. As the tide floods in and people disappear you are left with the beautiful tranquility of birdsong and the iridescent colours of the sands below. This truly is a Cornish gem that cannot be beaten for sunrise or sunset when the suns glow cascades across the water.

Absolutely fabulous evening with Steph paddle boarding down the River Gannel. Just the right amount of instruction and our whole family had a great time! Steph took lovely pictures of us all too!

Amazing experience. I would genuinely recommend this so much. Steph was so good at instructing us and relaxing us both. We really enjoyed it and vowed that we would do it again. The weather forecast wasn’t good at all but we did see a glimpse of a sunset in the end.

My family thought I was crazy as did I when saying we need to wake at 6am to meet Steph at 6.30am but what a way to start the day. Steph was fab and got us all confident standing for the first time and exploring The Gannel. Would highly recommend booking a private tour with Steph and would book again on out next visit to Cornwall. The morning even though early, it was a beautiful Morning with no one around and made us enjoy our breakfast even more. Steph took loads of fabulous photos we have enjoyed looking at and has given us the bug for doing it again soon, even my teenager is willing to wake early if we can.
