The tour dives into the depths of history and discovers the how, when, where and why of Stonehenge & ancient past of humans, from Neolithic Man to the present day. Stonehenge and Avebury in Wiltshire are among the most famous groups of megaliths in the world. Il tour è stato gradevole. Il nostro autista Dave molto simpatico e con guida sicura ci ha accompagnato raccontandoci aneddoti in tutti i luoghi pattuiti nella prenotazione. L'auto era molto confortevole e moderna. Siamo molto soddisfatti, soprattutto di esserci spinti fino ad Avebury, un luogo unico. La campagna era meravigliosa. Se possibile mandate ai clienti maggiori informazioni per quando si arriva alla stazione di Salisbury.

I had such a fantastic time on my all-day tour of Salisbury & Stonehenge with Geoff. He’s a history buff who’s full of interesting stories, trivia, and — be ready for them — pop-quizzes (I loved those!) :) I would not have wanted to try to plan the itinerary and the logistics on my own, so I was so happy to leave it all to them and be taken around everywhere. Btw, not everyone includes Avebury on their agenda (I almost didn’t) but I highly recommend it! I actually preferred it to Stonehenge because it’s more low-key, less touristy, but still a magical experience to be able to walk around and touch these massive stones that were so meaningful to humans from millenia ago. Pro tip: be sure to wear some study shoes you don’t mind getting a bit dirty since the rains can turn the trails and turf into mud (at Avebury mainly). I also recommend reading Sarum: A Novel of England before the tour. It’s a heavy tome of historical fiction, but if you can muddle through it, you can get into the stories ordinary individuals with complex plots that unfold in their lives amidst key times in history, such as the Magna Carta, the civil war and time of the Cavaliers and witch-burnings, and so on. Be sure to ask Geoff about it. ;) Thanks again, Geoff, for being such a delightful, tireless guide!

Come scrivono molti il prezzo è veramente costoso, 20 sterline ( se vuoi l'audioguida bisogna pagarla a parte) però il posto è veramente suggestivo ed una volta nella vita ,se si può, va visitato. Comunque consiglio di prenotare i biglietti on line perché rischiate una lunga coda se arrivate nell'orario di punta e di condividere le audio guide che hanno un volume piuttosto alto. Vicino alla biglietteria c'è un punto ristoro che fornisce panini.
