    Leaving The Red City behind we set a course for the coast until, after a journey of around 2 hours, we arrive at Essaouira “The Pearl of the Atlantic”. Rich in history, which can be seen predominantly in its wonderful coastal ramparts, famous in particular for its music, this ancient citadel on the West Atlantic coast of Africa literally means “wall” in the Berber language, you’ll soon discover why. The charming artistic blue and white town has been a favorite amongst barefoot travelers for decades. You can explore its peculiar wonders at your leisure. Stroll along the historic ramparts and step back in time in a walking tour of sights and landmarks then have the freedom to do what you want, see the beautiful Moulay el Hassan square, the old medina (listed as a UNESCO heritage site), the port, the sandy beach, browse for souvenirs at the bazaars, or try freshly caught, local seafood at an open-air restaurant. When you discover that hidden gem for the first time, you decide right away you will come back for sure to a short break in the peaceful, artsy and hippy town.

Essaouira is a very charming city, I suggest this tour to everyone who want to know deeper and explore the country. Our guide Reda shared great stories, cultural habits and background of this amazing town, as we discovered the city like we could never do on our own. Essaouira is my favorite spot now, can’t wait till am back and travel with you again. The guide was so enthusiastic, full of information, and has answered all our special wishes in this hippie chilling town.
