Horse Ride on the Beach in Essaouira

I couldn’t be more impressed. I went with my brother who had never been on a horse before , while I am an experienced rider. They don’t mix groups so we could completely adjust the pace to what we were most comfortable with. The company cares for safety and there were helmets and chaps to use, my brother was hooked up to a safety line for the first attempts for a trot and canter, with good guidance he turned out to be a fast learner. The horses (all stallions) were absolutely incredible , nothing I’ve ever experienced before with horses being ridden by so many different people! They made me and my brother feel comfortable and confident in no time . They are super responsive to their riders which resulted in my brother doing a good canter on the beach by himself. I could go in a full gallop without any issues or horses trying to follow each other. Absolutely incredible character, very gentle and sweet, but exhilarating to ride ! The guide was a kind and patient teacher and clearly loves the horses. Highly recommended!

I did their 6 day tour and camp through Essaouira at the end of February 2023. I went as a solo female traveller and wow what a trip, what an experience i highly recommend to any experienced riders for either just a day trip or the full tour. I'd never camped before so i was a bit nervous for this part along with the food but i thought where better to try it than abroad where it's warmer. I truly appreciated the whole experience, we had a designated chef who followed us through the tour and i can honestly say we were fed like kings and queens. We also had 2 maintenance guides who toured with the chef (because you never sleep in the same place), they set up our tents and guarded our stuff by day and took turns monitoring the camp by night. We didn't know this until a few days in but tourism is that important to them out there and their reputation that the local police did drive buys every night to ensure our guards were awake monitoring our horses, our stuff and us. By day the police would also call / check in with our guide 2-3 times a day as well checking our location and that everyone was well. I'll be honest before we found this out we already felt extremely secure but finding out this as well made us feel even more secure. It also shows how important their tourists are to them and explains why the crime rate is so low. Our tour guide Younes was just amazing, he really did do absolutely everything he could to ensure we enjoyed our experience, including capturing photos and videos where possible. The whole team were an absolute credit to the owners and as a solo female traveller i felt safe, welcomed and WOW what an experience i had. The scenery was amazing, the horses were well trained and well looked after like some other places we could easily identify on our travels, the organisation of everything really couldn't be faulted. The locals were also a breathe of fresh air in comparison to other areas, there was no being hounded, no constantly being chased for money. The locals greeted you with a smile and a wave and let you go about your business. Cheval Essaouira offers lots of activities from day trips to 3/4/5/6 day tours and if you get an opportunity to go I truly recommend it.
