    Sóller, the commercial and cultural center of the Sierra, welcomes us to the main square of Sóller, which is perfect for sitting on a terrace and looking at the church of San Bartolomé and the Banco de Sóller building. Both constructions are a modernist work by the architect Joan Rubió, a disciple of Gaudí, who also signed the façade of the church, with a rose window carved in stone. Known as the cradle of modernism, Sóller keeps an extensive history between its streets and buildings. The old colonial-style manor houses and palaces tell us how in the 19th and 20th centuries, Majorcan merchants made their fortunes trading oranges in France and how King Alfonso XIII proclaimed Sóller the city and commercial and cultural center of the area.

My husband and I did this lovely day out to Soller and our tour guide Carmen was absolutely fantastic. We misheard the time for teturn to Palma from Soller and ended up making our own way on the tram and train. She rang us on the train and arranged to pick us up from a station just outside of Palma. We were very relieved that she and our coach driver made sure that we were able to return with the tour part. I cannot praise them enough for their care and hard work on our behalf. I highly recommend Limon Tours for all their tours. Thank you everyone whos was involved.

We joined this tour at 8:15, and with a very long round robin pick up and a large number of stops it was about two hours before we got going and nearly three hours before our first stop which was at an over crowded road side stop with long queues for the basic and unclean toilets. The boat and tram were packed and it was difficult to find seats and more difficult to sit together ( there were only two of us). On the return we arrived back 40 minutes later than advertised with no apology. To make things worse, it would have been only twenty if they’d not driven straight past the village we were staying in.

My partner and I went on an excursion for the day to visit other parts of the island. I cannot fault the fantastic day we had with the tour operators. We had a driver called Luis who's driving was incredible with tricky mountain roads. Very experienced. Our tour guide was Viviene who was very friendly approachable and spoke so many different languages to a good standard (in English and Spanish anyway can't comment on the other languages ????) which catered for everyone on the tour. Viviene was also so knowledgeable about the island and was happy to answer any questions you had. The whole day was perfect and well organised. (I didn't want it to end). I highly highly recommend booking a tour round the island you will not be disappointed. Luis and Viviene are an absolute credit to the company ???? ????.
