With your local companion by your side, you’ll skip past the tourist traps and discover the city’s culinary highlights in some of our favourite local neighbourhoods, where you'll have the opportunity to savour a traditional dessert at an authentic pastry. We will join locals at a cosy café and taste traditional "Albanian coffee".
The next stop of our local adventure takes us to the New Bazaar. We will try the traditional Albanian lunch – "Qofte" (meatballs) paired with freshly baked bread. Vegetarians can enjoy freshly baked bread with Albanian Gjize (cottage cheese).
To end this tour in the best way, we will also taste some Albanian Raki.

Rruga Reshit Çollaku, Tirana, Albania
Tirana, Tirana, Albania If you want to get a taste of the authentic local culture instead of visiting the standard tourist attractions in Tirana, the best thing to do is to jump into this day tour. We will start our excellent walking tour at our Office where you will meet with your local companion. You will have an insight into the hidden alleyways and bustling street markets of Tirana, where dozens of street hawkers sell fresh vegetables and fruits. After walking through the busy streets, we will try Byrek at a small local place that only locals know how to find. The famous traditional Albanian food is dough with all kinds of filling such as cheese, meat or spinach. Have breakfast like a local by pairing it with the traditional Albanian drink “Dhalle”. 30 minutes
Tregu Cameria, Tirana, Albania Next, we will walk towards Çam bazaar, founded by the Albanian Çam community, who originally came from an area called Çameria in today’s North-western Greece. Here you can buy all kinds of goods from clothes to kitchen equipment and bargain with the sellers for a cheaper price. 30 minutes
Rruga Qemal Stafa, Tiranë, Albania On our way to the next bazaar, we will stroll around and discover the city’s neighbourhoods and hidden gems. You will be able to absorb the local vibes by visiting the so called Bicycle bazaar, where you can find everything, from second hand clothes to second hand furniture. 60 minutes
Pazari i Ri, Tirana, Albania The tour will continue towards new bazaar, located in the most colourful area of Tirana. You will get to know the city and its local people through getting to know the local cuisine during lunch time. We will try the traditional Qofte (small pieces of meat filled with spices), fried potatoes, fresh bread and traditional sauce. There are also vegetarian options for the ones who do not eat meat. To end this tour in the best way, we will try some Albanian Raki as well. As we Albanians say, there is nothing that Raki can’t fix 60 minutes

Had a great time touring Tirana seeing many sites and tasting many treats. Ervis was a great guide and we learned about much about the Albanian culture. Worth the time to take this tour.

I had the pleasure of joining a culture and food tour with Ervis in Tirana, and it was a truly memorable experience. Ervis was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and passionate about his local culture. He shared fascinating stories and insights into the history of Tirana, giving me a much deeper understanding of the city beyond what you’d find in a guidebook. The food stops were also well-curated — authentic, delicious. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a meaningful and enriching experience in Tirana!

My wife and I (English/German) took the private tour with Ervis today and throughly enjoyed the experience. All in all we spent almost 4.5 hours together walking through central Tirana with stops along the way for a reviving Turkish coffee and delicious bits of local food (from fruit and nuts to Byrek and cheese, ending with a full Albanian sit down dinner and a Raki digestif).
What made the tour so special was, however, Ervis‘ company and all the insights we gained into so many aspects of Albanian history, culture, politics and everyday life. Ervis is extremely knowledgable (a trained journalist and lawyer who speaks several languages), a very good communicator and just a fun person to spend an afternoon with. The tour wasn’t cheap but definitely worth the money. I am a passionate reader but you just cannot get the same experience from a book. Highly recommended.
