    Just few minutes away from the beach, are a series of fun, crystal spring waterfalls that deserve your visit. Tamanique waterfalls is an adventure of 1 hour drive from San Salvador. It requires a hike so please be prepared for a steep walk and bring good footwear. It takes about 30 minutes to hike down to the waterfalls from town. On the way, let the locals regale you with stories of years living in a surf paradise. Then dive into the cool pools and take a break from the tropical heat.

    El Tunco El Salvador is one of the most famous beaches in the country; and also one of the top surfing spots in El Salvador and all of Central America. This surf village, with only two streets, is famous for its excellent surfing, striking sunsets, and weekend parties. Year after year, surfers and non-surfers from many countries visit El Tunco to take advantage of the excellent waves and everything else it has to offer.

Our guide Gaby was great! On time, knowledgeable, and patient. The hike down was challenging but manageable. You have to have a 2nd guide affiliated with the part to guide you down to the falls. I can see why because the trail is not very well established. The description says "comfortable shoes," but it should say HIKING SHOES/BOOTS. I wore walking sandals and that was a bad choice. You definitely need something closed toed as you will climb over, under, and through the woods trying to get down to the falls. Once there, the falls are beautiful & refreshing. They deliver on everything promised from the pictures. But the hike back up is STEEP and treacherous in certain points. Nothing in the Trip Advisor description prepared me or the others on tour for how strenuous this hike back out would be. I consider myself to be in at least average shape (daily activity, a walker & jogger, hiker on many occasions) and I found it extremely challenging. Someone in less shape would really struggle. El Tunco was a fun and beautiful location to recuperate after a harrowing morning at the falls.

The guides were amazing! Freddy and Josué showed us how to hike to the waterfall and the view was so beautiful. Positive tours is a great area to look for vacation trips. It was the first time I ever hiked so it was scary at first. But Josué and Freddy reassured me I was okay. They helped direct were I should step because my balance was not so great at times. We went to El Tunco beach it was nice. Josué showed us place to see and eat very fun. My family and I loved it. I would recommend this activity for fit and hiking people.
