A fresh and dynamic experience that has allowed me to get to know the old city of Faro and its history, enjoy the daily dynamics of its market and end up savoring the land&sea roots of the Algarve through the preparation of a cataplana. A funny cooking experience to be introduced in the traditional Algarve tastes.

What a memorable, educational, fun and delicious day! The market tour was fabulous. We learned about the market itself, seasonal fruits and vegetables, the many varieties of seafood Portugal is know for and about cured meats. After the Market Tour, we took a lovely stroll through the streets of Faro to reach Telúlia Algarvia, the restaurant where we would cook all the food we purchased at the market. Upon arrival we were given an appetizer of cured tuna on little toasts. Soooo good. Then it was off to make our cataplana. We learned the history of the dish and dove right in to making it. The whole process was fun and educational. Once the Cataplana we made was done, we were sent back down to a table in the courtyard and given wine and an appetizer, followed shortly by the cataplana we made with all the ingredients we purchased from the market that morning. The sea food was so fresh and delicious my mouth is watering writing this review. Last they served us dessert which was just as traditional and delicious as everything else. Any skill level cook can come have a great time learning about the culture and preparing delicious food. This experience was fantastic, memorable and delicious. I happily recommend it to anyone visiting the Algarve.
